That was great. Sir Jacob you are an excellent extemporaneous speaker.
You made a good point about Churchill and Roosevelt's early dealings with each other. People forget about that. FDR sent Averill Harriman to England to ameliorate the situation.
On a lighter note, I never thought I would see a film or a taped feed of you with a lava lamp in the background. Rock on!
Really interesting, I’m afraid I’m not particularly ‘clued in’ when it comes to all things politics but I’m interested and I enjoyed the detail of this discussion
Listened to your piece a week late but, anyway, all good stuff so please do more. Meantime, a couple of interesting historical touchstones of interest in these troubled times. One is the interesting, if obviously incomplete, comparison between Woodrow Wilson’s approach to Germany, as the WW1 aggressor, at the end of that conflict & Trump’s indulgence of Putin, now. The other is the relationship between Gladstone’s extraordinary popularity as ‘the People’s William’ after his 1861 & 1862 budgets with their focus on ‘good housekeeping’ & ‘balancing the books’, & the existential need for the UK to realise the need to live within our means, starting with abandonment of Net Zero; slashing welfare & the size of the State; & a reversal of Labour’s’ war on wealth. Can we wait four years on these fronts & where is the opposition front bench in rebuilding the Conservative base from which millions have defected?
As I mentioned in another post recently, I met Zelensky's former personal trainer in Los Angeles. Somehow he along with his family and dogs managed to get out early. One assumes given the dogs that he flew private. And he seemed to have the money to rent a rather nice air-b-n-b. Poor Ukrainians indeed!
I subscribe to the Free Press and recommend it. They do their best to foster debate on all sides of an issue much to the dismay of those whose minds are closed to one side or another. I thought Suzy Weiss' interview with Sir Jacob was pretty stupid (on her part). I guess she was trying to be amusing. I believe that she is only employed because she is Bari's little sister.
Mr. Phillips, you clearly don't mind paying Sir Jacob's rather extortionate fee for his weekly "letter". I would suggest that you look more closely at the Free Press which includes a daily email "news of the day" with links to longer interviews, etc. and the very amusing email "TGIF" every Friday. An annual subscription is less that half the cost of Sir Jacob's publication. If you are a podcast listener, do try "Honestly". It's free.
If there was a way for you to send me your email, I would be happy to forward a few emails for you to look at.
I know nothing of Ben Cohen or his work.
I recommend that you find Bari Weiss' letter of resignation from the New York Times.
I think America is Britain's friend. That said I think we Americans are afraid of what your immigration problem has led to. Someone recently joked, only half joking, that the first nuclear armed Islamic country is going to be Britain. Think about that for a few minutes.
We have observed that your politicians, police and judiciary are terrified of being called racist or Islamophobic. If, like me, you think that most actions result from either fear or greed, let's consider the greed side of the equation. Look if you can (I don't know how easy the information is to obtain in the UK) at the amount of money Arabs have donated to British universities, political groups and individuals and their "charities". We in the US have noticed how Arabs and the Chinese have bought their way into our colleges and universities. We will make it stop. You might consider doing the same.
Sorry? Which Jewish clown do you refer to? And if you mean the former comedian, Zelensky, if he's Jewish that might be the only good thing I've heard about him and has Britain really been conned out of GBP 25 billion? If so, think how we feel in America!
Most interesting and enjoyable.
Excellent talk. Agreed 100%
Informative and clear. Thank you.

Very enjoyable and please try to make this a regular event
Enjoyed it very much
